I believe everybody is meant for something. I was meant to skate. I didn't always skate, in fact about five years ago I loved the sport basketball. Its what I did in all my free time. And back then I had a lot of free time that's what lead me to skating.
It all began when my twin brother Jake got his first board for Christmas. Seeing that Jake was into skating made me think weather I should get into skating or not. With that thought in my head a week later I decided to give skating a try. But the only thing was, I didn't have a skateboard at the time or a pair of skate shoes, so Jake told me that our buddy Mike had a lot of extra stuff that he would give to me. The next morning Jake and I went to Mike's house and he helped me put together a board for me. After tightening the last couple of strews we hit the street.
At first I could barley stand on the board let alone ride it. I got the basics down in just two weeks. Seeing that my talent as increased it made me want to skate even more. I practiced all the time, weather it was sunny or not. I even would skate in my garage when it would rain. After skating in my basketball shoes for three weeks I asked if my father would help me out by paying for half of the price for my shoes and he agreed.
The very next day I got my first pair of skate shoes and it felt great, apair of DC's, all black. Those DC's only lasted for two months, therefore I had to buy another pair. This time I wanted a shoe that would last longer, a pair of Globes was my choice.
